Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr., selects McCain for President

The video below is a discussion among Black Conservatives on why values and views are more important than skin color. This was held in Washington D.C. in September of this year by the Family Research Council. Included in this discussion is Dr. Alveda King, Star Parker, Bishop Harry Jackson (President of High Impact Coalition and pastor of Hope Christian Church), William Owens Jr. (President of Higher Standards Enterprise, Inc.) and Eric M. Wallace, PhD (President and CEO of Wallace Mulitmedia Group, LLC).

With days before the election, this video needs to be seen by every black person who says that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior! Pass it around - and quick!

See also, Martin Luther King was a Republican - by Dr. Alveda King. She discusses her families ties to the Republican party in this video along with excerpts of speeches by her famous uncle.

  1. There is a webpage for Freedom Journal Magazine, originally the first black newspaper. The first video is a part of a video that right now is on their home page.

  2. Thanks for sharing that link Pamela!

  3. I ministered with Dr. Alveda King in Greensboro, NC in August. She was very passionate and made a major impact on me. Thanks for sharing this video. I also had the opportunity to sit and talk with her personally about several issues, especially the ssa issue. It was golden.

  4. I am so impressed what I’m learning about Dr. Alveda King. I’m embarrassed that I haven’t known about her beliefs until now.

Same with the journal Pamela shared above. I’m just learning - learning and learning.

But what a wonderful experience that must have been to spend time with Dr. King and share like-minded things!

  5. I just found out about the magazine a couple of months ago. You really need to check out their blog. They have a pretty interesting group. A good number of them are ministers. You may have heard about Harry Jackson. As far as I know he is still a registered Democrat but has been pushing the social/moral issues in recent years.

There is a social network with about 25 members called New Black Thought. The publisher of that magazine is one of the members.

One of the founders of the Booker T Washington Inspirational Network lives where I do. The other founder is the great-granddaughter of Booker T Washington. The enphasis of this network is to (1) bipartisan and (2) promote the philosophy of Booker T Washington, that is, to be the best you can be and not depend on others to take responsibility of your own life. From what I can tell most of the people that are a part of this are Christians.

There is a social network with about 25 members called New Black Thought. The publisher of that magazine I mentioned is one of the members. The goal of this network is to hopefully build grass roots support for black conservatives. As you know the national Republican party really has not supported blacks in national elections like they could have. The idea is to get a large enough support base to be a true force in politics instead of just a novelty. The local fellow and I plan to meet at some point. There is at least another local person. The two of them attend the same church here.

A lot of this information is new to me as well.

  6. I have put this Faith, Race and Politics video on my blog. I am burned out somewhat and tired of politics. I was only going to blog about non political subjects,if any at all this week. I am still going to take the last two days of this month off from blogging, but seeing this blog post and a Worldnet Daily column (which I link to at the end of my blog post) re-energized me.

I will be posting the URL of this video and related videos in a pro Obama chatroom from a local Philly urban radio station in my future chats between now and the election (PA does not have early voting). They hardly tolerate me in that chatroom, but I know I have challenged a few of the chatter’s thinking. Tonight or tomorrow, I will have a pro McCain posts including more of this perspective.

  7. Glad to have been a part of bringing you back from the point of burnout Bev! :)

Like you, I’ve really had my fill of politics though and can not wait for Nov 4 to pass!

Hey that’s great what you doing in getting the word out. I have my relatives in an uproar with my pro-McClain blogging. They can’t see why on earth I won’t vote for Obama.

That was a great article on Worldnet daily. I don’t see too often articles WITH scripture on WND. That one was refreshing. I’ll be adding that to one of my posts too!

  8. Pam, I found your last comment in my spam queue. It was tagged as spam because of more than one link in the message.

    Sorry ’bout that!

    Thanks for those links too!

  9. I’ll try and remember that next time:)

  10. Was Alveda King the one whom Martin Luther King Sr. convinced not to get an abortion?

  11. I’m not sure if it was Alveda, but she does talk about Martin Luther King Sr., her grandfather saving the life of a great-grandchild after she had already had two abortions (one involuntary). She says:

My grandfather, Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr., once said, “No one is going to kill a child of mine.” Tragically, two of his grandchildren had already been aborted when he saved the life of his next great-grandson with this statement. His son, King once said, “The Negro cannot win as long as he is willing to sacrifice the lives of his children for comfort and safety.” How can the “Dream” survive if we murder the children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate.

This can be found with her complete abortion story here: Silence No More Awareness

  12. The following link is a Hot Air post from last week (provided to me from a commenter on my blog).

    http://hotair.com/archives/2008/10/21/the-comprehensive-argument-against-barack-obama/

The post states the case against Barack Obama.

  13. Ms. King, great lady, a day has come that God has anointed you as the same anointing as mlk.
Your blessings will abound for standing in the gap for Jesus, work hard, stop aborton , do not tire, for great, oh so great is your reward, stop Abortion tomarrow!! Our lives here are for a moment but we will live forever and ever in eternity. God is going to show himself, be ready,
do what you can, so another baby is not murdered. Find your strong men and take action!!

  14. Thanks for taking a stance even if it goes against the majority who think this issue is not important enough to not vote for a Pro Choice president. Our babies are dying red, yellow, black and white. I intend to be a part of this positive move.

  15. Thanks Mac! In spite of the beating the GOP has been receiving, I’m still proud to be in that number that’s taking a stand against Obama (but he does have my support and prayers as our new President) and what he represents.

Looking forward to conservatives reclaiming the future presidency! Looking forward to issues such as abortion, gay-marriage and etc. being put to rest positively.
